We had just hit publish on an article titled “11 of the best country NSW wedding venues” when Tiarne and Brandon’s wedding arrived in our inbox.
The timing felt serendipitous given their celebration took place at BoxGrove (one of the wedding venues included in the above-mentioned article) and the conversations we’d been having around country weddings in general.
It seems they’re making a serious comeback (minus the bunting and hay bales, thankfully). And when you look at weddings like Tiarne and Brandons, it makes sense. A stunning location, awe-inspiring views, a vibe that can’t be replicated anywhere else and enough space and flexibility to create a day that honours their individuality… what’s not to love?
Captured by legendary photographer Kirsten Cunningham you can see this stunning NSW country wedding in all its glory below (including their sweet wedding film by Greer Films).
+++++
How did you and Brandon meet? We had always known of each other as we grew up in the same town however, we first connected when we went on a bus trip on Anzac Day with a group of friends… we started dating a few months after!
The proposal: It was definitely a surprise! We were at the Hunter Valley for a week away and Brandon organised for us to go hot air ballooning and when we arrived he had organised a private balloon with just us to and he proposed mid air during the flight! Then followed by a private breakfast when we landed! I had no idea at all!
The venue: We got married at BoxGrove in Bathurst. We instantly fell in love with the venue when we saw it – such a stunning location! We wanted to go with a more simple, clean theme. We loved the white and green florals and with the amazing Kayla we designed the perfect combination of subtle with a few pops of colour! We wanted to mix modern with the barn vibe so added the clear ghost chairs with the barn tables for the perfect blend of both!
Traditions: adopted, adapted or ditched? I didn’t really have any traditions! The only thing we did a little differently is involve my Mum who has passed away and so involved a lot of things surrounding her and used things that were important to her (eg. her favourite song as the aisle song).
Hit or (near) miss: Everything that we planned for the wedding went to plan perfectly (thanks to the amazing BoxGrove team) however, about one hour before our wedding we had a massive storm – hail, lightning and all! We did have to move indoors and it was looking so miserable but about 10 minutes before I was due to walk down the aisle it cleared up and was amazing the rest of the day!
I’ll never forget… The mixed emotions (joy, happiness, laughter and tears) on the faces of all our closest people in our lives in the same room for the night sharing our love!
The outfit/s: I chose my dress at the first bridal shop I went to. I tried on five dresses and as soon as I tried on my dress I (and my bridesmaids) instantly knew it was the one – it’s made me feel so gorgeous!
Brandon knew he wanted a cream suit from the beginning so was pretty quick and easy for him and his groomsmen to go and pick that straight away!
Standout vendors: Firstly our amazing photographer Kirsten Cunningham – she captured the day stunningly and we can’t thank her enough for the memories she has given us! Similarly Greer Films who have us a video we will treasure forever, between these two working together on the day they created magic!
Of course BoxGrove as a venue – Kayla and the team do an amazing, seamless job and make everything effortless!
I could talk about all our vendors as they were all amazing, but these were the standouts!
Soundtrack: Aisle song: “Dancing Queen”, by Elliot. Just married song: ” This Will Be (An Ever Lasting Love)”, by Natalie Cole. First dance: “Never Let You Go”, by Evermore.
And all the best hits were then performed by Luke Furbank on guitar the rest of the night, getting all the guests up dancing all night!
Words of wisdom: To enjoy the process. I feel like there is a lot of stress and emphasis on how you have to create the perfect day, but you need to enjoy all the moments leading up [to it] as well.
Budget: We actually are so casual we didn’t really keep a budget along the way haha! But I imagine it would have been around 30-40k mark.
The future: Just continuing to enjoy each moment of our lives and start a family that we can share our love with!
