Tasmania, it does so many things well: food, miniature houses, cider, seafood and of course, weddings. Steph and Matt married at Bangor Vineyard Shed – a spectacular wedding venue set on a 6,000 hectare farming property – and treated their guests to an unforgettable, true Tassie experience.
Hey guys, in a nutshell, how would you describe your wedding day?
So much fun, we live in Melbourne but Steph grew up in Hobart so most of our friends and family are in Melbourne and had never been to Hobart before. We really wanted to showcase Tassie and have amazing food and wine. The weather was freezing and windy but this just added to the day and having a wood fire burning in the venue was just perfect.
What did you expect was going to be your favourite part in the lead-up? And what did it end up being?
It was everything we expected as we really trusted in everyone who was a part of the wedding, from the photographer and wedding stylist to the food and wine. Having so much fun with our family and friends, dancing the night away – the wedding was like a big party.
What was it about your wedding venue that made you choose it?
We loved that it was remote and it was just us and our guests, plus they have the best wine and using Smolt Kitchen for catering was amazing, everyone raved and still does rave about the food and wine.
Now that you’re married, what’s your best piece of wedding-planning advice you can share?
Find vendors you trust and try not to stress about the small things because on the day nothing else matters and your wedding really is one of the greatest days.
