Brace your eyeballs for this fun, stylish wedding put together by Charlie and Kallum at Cooks Co-Op – a rustic NSW farm shed on the Hawkesbury River run by chef Martin Boetz (formerly of Longrain Sydney and Melbourne).
A giant blank-canvas, the Co-op allowed this creative duo to bring their big day to life in a way that reflected the chilled vibes they were putting out. In fact, Today Tonight even had a chat to Charlie and Kallum to discuss how they went about finding and planning their wedding using WedShed (you’ll catch our mugs on there too).
With awesome vendors like Tillee Music, The Distillery and Mikarla Bauer on hand to bring the day to another level with acoustic tunes and beautiful florals, the result was special.
Here’s Charlie with more dets.
What kind of feel were you aiming to create for the day?
For our wedding, we really wanted a relaxed country vibe. The Co-op was perfect for this it meant we could share our special moments with 120 of our closest people and yet it felt so intimate.
What traditions did you involve during your big day?
We aren’t a very traditional couple, the ceremony was very relaxed with everyone standing around us but we love the hymn ‘Amazing Grace’ and that was so special to sing with everyone up on the beautiful cliff.
What advice would you give to other couples leading up to their big day?
Make sure you book a relaxing honeymoon! The big day is just that but with months of stress and prep. The best thing we did was head off to Fiji for some much needed rest!
What does marriage mean to you?
For us, marriage is spending your life with your other half – the person who makes you laugh, the one who cries with you and the person who you want to be there to share every big moment in life.
What was your favourite moment on your wedding day?
The best moment was when we first saw each other. I just remember feeling so calm; as soon as I saw Kallum all the nerves just washed away. Also the dancing. Our friends and family are always up for a boogie and the dance floor was so amazing!
How did you find your venue and was the process difficult for you?
We found the venue through WedShed. The process was so easy, I remember the first time I called Kelly (from Cooks Co-op), from then on the wedding process became so much easier.
Ceremony song?
All is Love by Tallest Man on Earth.
First dance song?
Look At Where We Are by Hot Chip.
