The best part about this Mudgee wedding? Well, that's a bit of a trick question if you ask us because the answer could be anything - from the playful wedding styling (described by Amy as "think perfectly mismatched, like your favourite quirky aunt threw a whimsical party in a pastel wonderland.") to the incredible venue (Pavilion at Lowe) to the late night KFC (with everyone on the dance floor belting "I don’t care, I love it!" over a bucket of chicken).
Amy and Josh's celebration really was the kind of wedding where no detail was spared and Two Folk Films (see their wizardry here) and photographer Sarah of Sarbo Studio did an exceptionally good job of capturing it all (someone was cutting onions while we scrolling through the first look photos of Amy and her dad).

How did you and Josh meet? While surfing sharks - LOL. No, we met on Hinge in the middle of a lockdown.
The venue: We chose Lowe Wines for our wedding because it's the perfect blend of elegance and country chic - like a fine wine that knows how to put on its best suit without looking like it's trying too hard!
Best wedding planning resources? Wedchat by Wedshed Facebook group.
Wedding vibe: Think perfectly mismatched, like your favourite quirky aunt threw a whimsical party in a pastel wonderland. Rustic stones, pastel colours, and a touch of simplicity.
Expectations vs. Reality: Expectation: "I couldn’t wait to DIY everything - how hard could it be?"
Reality: "Turns out, very hard. I seriously underestimated how long it would take to hand make everything." So worth it though!
Rapid Fire Q's
Wedding save? Borrowed my friends Le Rose gown to get ready in.
First look? No to husband, yes to dad.
Aisle song? "Amazed" by Lonestar.
Party starter track? "September" by Earth, Wind & Fire (as we got married on the 21st).
Ceremony or reception? Can't choose.
On-budget or over-budget? What budget?
Honeymoon? Spain, Greece and Bali.
Best thing you did? Hands down, obsessing over the run sheet to make sure it fit our vibe - because nothing says romance like an organised timeline! We played musical chairs scavenger hunt edition, snuck out for dreamy night photos, and capped it off with late-night KFC and a packed dance floor, everyone belting "I don’t care, I love it!" over a bucket of chicken. Truly, the pinnacle of elegance.
Hit (or near) miss: Oh, we had a few! Like when a friend’s partner had to make a last-minute dash to Coles in Mudgee to grab a crochet tool to fix my dress - talk about a fashion emergency!
And then there was the fact that I didn’t try on my second dress until the day before... and it didn’t fit! But, like a true bride, I wasn’t going to let that stop me. So, I got changed in the middle of the cellar door and somehow made it work - nothing says 'determined' like an impromptu fashion show among wine barrels!
If we had our time again... I’d definitely plan the photo list a bit better and make sure to point out my VIPs, especially my mum and nan, who definitely deserved their own photo shoot!
