Wedding cocktails and signature drinks always make the cut when we talk about the best ways to create an epic celebration. They set the vibe for a good time and are a nice alternative to the usual offerings of beer, wine, champagne and soft drink. They’re also a great way to add your own personal touch to the event – perhaps a whiskey sour is symbolic of your first date or someone who has passed.
If you’re tossing up whether to include a cocktail or signature drink at your wedding, read on to find out why they’re always a good idea and to discover some awesome recipes courtesy of our favourite mobile bars and wedding planners.
- They taste delicious. And unless you’re a Martian, who wouldn’t want to sip on something so yum?!
- Being pregnant at a wedding isn’t as fun as being not pregnant at a wedding. Having a mocktail to enjoy is a small consolation to your pregnant guests and one way of saying, “Don’t worry, we didn’t forget about you and your unborn child.”
- It sets a good vibe. A fancy drink served from a fancy glass definitely makes guests feel like they’re part of something special and that they’re in for a good time. Whether you choose to serve them pre or post-ceremony (or both), it’s a great way to kickstart the celebrations. Just remember to provide food as well. We all know how drinking on an empty stomach ends.
- Mobile bars add another element to your wedding. They look amazing, save you doing all the hard work (think logistics around glassware, ice, RSA qualified staff etc.) and create a designated area for guests to mingle (plenty of mobile bars also offer a styling service to help make creating these pop-up lounge areas a no-brainer).
So now that we’ve twisted your arm (you booze hounds, we knew it wouldn’t take much) we’ve gone one step further and asked some industry mates for their favourite wedding cocktails and signature drinks recipes. Enjoy and drink responsibly!
