REAL WEDDING: Sophie + Brett – Maroko Farm
It takes a lot to impress us. Okay, not really – but this wedding will rock your world. Giant tipis, an abundance of beautiful blooms and one killer dress. If the truth must be told, we’re a little bit bummed we weren’t invited. At least we can try to relive that day through these pretty pictures…

A few things stood out to us about Sophie and Brett’s wedding – their choice of vehicle, their giant tipis, the cloudy sunset – the list goes on.

Of course we were also smitten with their epic venue (a private family farm) and last but not least, their first dance song (c’mon – who doesn’t love Van Morrison). Scroll down to see the full shebang and be inspired by a few awesome wedding ideas.

Tell us about how you met and the proposal?

We met at uni on residence. The proposal happened on the beach in Byron Bay.

What DIY projects did you do accomplish for the wedding?

Confetti cones, flower arrangements for ceremony, hanging gums in teepee, hanging planter pots.

What was your theme/inspiration/vibe for your wedding?

Tipi / Indian / Country.

What advice would you give to other couples leading up to their big day?

Take a few minutes time out with your new husband/wife to step away and admire the incredible celebration of love that you together created.

What does marriage mean to you?

Unity, hope, love, family, support, inspiration.

What was your favourite moment on your wedding day?

Sitting at our bridal table next to Brett – looking around and realising that everybody under the incredibly decorated tipi was there for us. All of our favourite people in the world under one tipi! That was extremely humbling.

Tell us any funny stories that surrounded your wedding?

The night before, dad (Soph’s dad) was trying to get away from his snoring wife so went on the hunt for another bed and unbeknownst to him, Macca the groomsmen who he had never met was in the spare bed when dad tried to jump in! I’m not sure who got the biggest fright!

How did you find your venue and was the process difficult for you?

Easy- family farm! Tipi was tricky as we needed one from Melbourne and two from SA!

Ceremony song?

Louise Ryan sang ‘At Last’ by Etta James and “I feel good” by James Brown.

First dance song?

Baker Boys sang “Brown eyed girl” – Van Morrison.
