An unexpected, whirlwind romance quickly turned into a forever kind of love story for Chantel and Pauline, who tied the knot at Collits Inn – a unique Blue Mountains wedding venue.
Their vibe was ‘rustic bohemian’ and their ethos throughout the planning process was to do things their way. This meant ditching traditions that didn’t resonate with them and celebrating their first dance as a married couple under the stars.
Check out their entire day captured by WS faves Fiona + Bobby below.
First, could you tell us about how you met, any funny first date stories and a bit about the proposal?
We met online. Pauline was here from France and about to go home before we met up and she decided to stay. Six months later, we did a Europe trip and Chantel proposed in France.
In a few sentences, how would you describe your wedding day? Was there a particular vibe or theme you went for?
Rustic bohemian.
What’s the best piece of advice you took on when planning your wedding?
It goes so fast, make sure you spend as much time as you can together.
Now that you’re married, what’s the best piece of advice you can give other couples (other than don’t stress the small stuff)?
Never go to sleep fighting.
Did you scrap any wedding traditions? If so, what?
Lots! We walked down the aisle together, we had our mums do speeches, we didn’t do a father daughter dance, we didn’t do something new, blue, used and borrowed.
Finish this sentence. The best (or most unique) thing we did at our wedding was…
Having our first dance outside under the stars and fairy lights.
