Anyone who knows us knows we love Waldara and have been quite the fan for a while. This NSW country wedding venue features a working sheep and cattle farm and is just an hour past the Blue Mountains.

Featuring plenty of accommodation onsite, including two beautiful homesteads, this venue has an onsite tennis court, a gorgeous reception barn with modern amenities and views for days.

Read on to see more of Bec and Dave’s wedding day, captured by WedShed photographers, Kings & Thieves.

Hey Bec and Dave, what was it about Waldara Farm that made you book?

Driving up the to the property we instantly felt a connection to Waldara Farm. Having looked at numerous similar venues, Waldara had something different. With the perfect aesthetic, friendly venue manager and the exact facilities we were after, we couldn’t fault it. By the time we left we already had a very clear picture in our mind of how the big day was going to unfold.

Did you write your own vows? If so, what made you decide to do that?

Yes. There is literally no better occasion to be truly honest and open about our love for one another than at your wedding in front of all of our friends and family.  Knowing we had written personal vows for each other also created a sense of mystery on the day as we obviously didn’t know what the other was going to say and as you do so much planning together, it’s nice to have a surprise or two along the way! We also found that the effort that goes into getting the vows perfect really puts the meaning of the day in perspective.

What’s your best piece of wedding-related advice?

Planning is just so important, not everything will be perfect, but get the extra quotes, read the extra article to make sure you create an event that is perfect for YOU. If you had your time again, is there anything you’d do differently?

We got our alcohol order almost perfect but were surprised to see how quickly the champagne went! Less wine and more champagne if it’s a spring/summer wedding!

Finish these sentences.

My partner…

Is a beautiful man who makes me feel safe, loved and makes me laugh.. a lot

The best thing we did at our wedding was…

Performing the first dance to the Dirty Dancing ‘Time of my Life’– with the groom performing the saxophone solo live and all!

We splurged on…

Having an amazing venue for the whole weekend

We saved on…

Dessert – went with a large cake instead!
