The Old Coach Stables is a unique country NSW wedding venue, combining a history of food, and wine on a working sheep and wool-producing property. Run by husband and wife duo, Melinda and Scott, this beautiful rural wedding venue is only 50 minutes from Canberra and 30 minutes from Goulburn.

Hey The Old Coach Stables, what are some of the perks of getting married at your venue?

We offer a super relaxed atmosphere and when you book our venue, you have the venue from Friday afternoon until Sunday morning.

How did you get involved with weddings? What was the motivation?

We got involved in weddings because we needed off-farm income with drought affecting our farming business after three years of restoring the building. To first share the end result, we hosted our daughter’s wedding at The Stables. After a huge success, we then decided to offer to other couples.

That’s awesome. Can you tell us a bit about the facilities you have on-site?

The Old Coach Stables offers the whole package, with three ceremony areas, beautiful gardens, a fully licensed bar with local wines or wines and beers of your choice. Plus, we have in house catering with a large menu of choices.

What are your most commonly asked questions by couples? (Oh, and what are the answers?)

We regularly get this question, being a country wedding venue. The answer is, we certainly do. We have an Air B&B and local hotels, plus we also have major centers within 30 minutes and we can organise buses.

What’s your favourite thing that you’ve seen a couple do at your venue?

Arriving in a horse-drawn carriage or arriving in a helicopter.

What advice would you give to couples currently planning their wedding?

Go with a venue that suits you both, and don’t rush your decision. Look at a bunch of venues and go with the one that feels right.
