Pursuing the Internet for wedding dresses is one of our favourite pastimes (equal to wine-tasting and online sales), so putting together a post on the 10 best long sleeve wedding dresses of 2022 wasn’t the worst experience in the world.
A quick search on Instagram or Pinterest and we were reminded of how spoilt for choice brides are when it comes to the style of wedding dress they want to wear – long, short, backless, strapless, white, blue, black – the list goes on. But with the cooler months fast approaching, we thought we’d shine the spotlight on long sleeve wedding dresses.

Why we love long sleeve wedding dresses.
The sub-heading here should really be “why wouldn’t we love long sleeve wedding dresses?” They’ve been around for eons, and while the silhouettes, fabrics and styles may have evolved over the decades, they’ve always had an elegant and timeless edge to them.
They’re very on-trend for 2022 and beyond too, so there are currently plenty of long sleeve wedding dress options available to suit every bride’s taste and budget (scroll down for a list of recommended bridal boutiques).
Who made long sleeve wedding dresses cool?
When we first think of celebrity icons who made long sleeve wedding dresses cool, our minds reach to people like Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor. But more recently, people like Meghan Markle, Hailey Baldwin Bieber and Kim Kardashian have also walked the aisle in long sleeved ensembles.
When to wear a long sleeve wedding dress.
If you’re planning a winter wedding, a long sleeve wedding dress is a practical choice (we’re considering the warmth factor here). But it’s also a timeless style that transcends seasons and there is guaranteed to be a style that will suit your wedding, regardless of what month you’re getting married in.
Traditionally, a long sleeve wedding dress is also considered a more conservative style of gown, so some brides may choose to wear a long sleeve wedding dress for their ceremony and portraits before changing into a party frock for their reception.
