What you are looking at here folks is pure, unadulterated farm wedding porn. It’s not very often we get sent a beautiful real wedding on a privately owned family farm that’s not open to all, so when this one landed in our inbox, we got way too excited. This stylish country wedding of Lauren and Chris’ included a ceremony in the gardens at St Arnaud, and reception at Lauren’s family farm. We don’t think we’ve ever seen a machinery shed look so flash.
Check out their day below, captured by legendary photographer Smith + Archer. Pre-warning before you scroll though, you’re going to have mad FOMO that you weren’t invited. Enjoy.
In a nutshell, how would you describe your wedding day?
An amazing day celebrating with our nearest and dearest.
What did you expect would be your favourite part? What did it end up being?
I knew walking down the aisle to see Chris and our daughter waiting for me would be special and it still is my favourite part of the day. I’m so glad Chris and I were able to sneak away for a couple of photos, it was so nice to take in the moment and have some time together away from everyone else.
Did you write your own vows? If so, what made you decide to do that?
We wrote our vows together, we both liked traditional vows but wanted to slightly tweak them to personalise it a little.
What was it about your wedding venue that made you choose it?
Our reception was on my family farm in a machinery shed where I had grown up so it was extra special. I was so proud to be able to show everyone the farm, setting up the venue was a lot of work but it was so worth it to see the shed transform into a casual and fun party space.
Now that you’re married, what’s your best piece of wedding-planning advice you can share?
It’s easier said than done but don’t stress about the little things. We all want our wedding day to be perfect, and it will be, but if something isn’t exactly as you’d planned in your head, it doesn’t matter because no one else will know.
If you had your time again, is there anything you’d do differently?
Hire a videographer, we didn’t and I wish we did. The ceremony went so quick that I wish we could go back and relive it again.
Finish this sentence: The best thing we did at our wedding was…
It’s hard to pinpoint one thing, the whole day was amazing.
