If you love a small winery which has loads of history, then John Gehrig Wines is for you.
The winery is operated and owned by a husband and wife team. Rutherglen has a historic winery shed transformed into a cellar door. Situated on the site is the old Gooramadda school site which makes a nice secluded personal area for ceremonies, and beyond that is the front dam and of course plenty of vineyard for that picture-perfect moment in the background, which also makes a lovely spot for a lawn ceremony and a glass of sparkling!

The Gehrig family is justifiably proud of its reputation as one of the older winemaking families in Victoria, with a heritage stretching back to the late 1850s. John Gehrig was a fourth generation vineron and John’s son Ross has taken on the challenge of guiding the fifth winemaking generation of Gehrigs to craft some fine wines.
In 2011, the allure of returning back into John’s original birthplace – Rutherglen- was too strong, thus Ross and Meghan expanded to a new vineyard and historic cellar door site in Gooramadda (East Rutherglen) which is
