What inspired you guys to get involved with weddings?
Our owner Debbie has been in the wedding and events industry since 1999. Starting as a personal assistant planning corporate events through to managing busy wedding venues and planning large-scale entertainment events, she’s had the opportunity to work in all aspects of the industry and brings her passion and creativity to the team at Potters.
What kind of facilities does Potters offer?
Our charming chapel will mesmerise you from the moment you walk through the door with its romantic canopy, hand carved pews and glass sliding doors, with views beyond to our landscaped gardens and manicured lawn. If you would prefer an outdoor ceremony, we also have our gazebo lawn or stunning wisteria courtyard which is perfect for larger weddings. Each of these locations offer amazing photo opportunities and no matter the weather on the day you can be sure that you will be well looked after.
We also have eight luxury wedding accommodation rooms available exclusively to you and your guests and the Potters penthouse is our latest addition. Just wait till you see this luxe space – perfect for your wedding night accommodation.
All of these facilities are linked by brick paved paths lined with detailed wrought iron handrails roaming across six acres of Australian native gardens with stunning waterfalls. The grounds have been designed to capture the daily and seasonal changes of light, making Potters exceptionally photographic all year round.
What do you think is the selling point for most couples?
We offer highly inclusive wedding packages. What’s more, our wedding team is well experienced and love what they do. The photo locations onsite at Potters are incredible, with paved walkways to get to those beautiful spots for location photos – think forests, streams, waterfalls, bridges, ghost gums and nature all around. It’s truly beautiful.
We are very proud of our unique wisteria draped courtyard. Being the only courtyard of its type in Melbourne, selecting this location for your ceremony will certainly wow your guests but also create stunning memories to last a lifetime.
Our large dining room offers an unsurpassed dining experience. We boast an elegant yet rustic room with a romantic waterfall behind the bridal table, crisp white linen, French oak cross-back chairs, two different styles of centrepieces and superb picture windows that frame the beautiful flood-lit gardens and waterfall backdrop.
Our dining room also hosts a large wrap around timber dance floor with a raised stage, complete with wireless microphone and coloured spotlight for your band or DJ.
Tell us more about the accommodation onsite – it sounds pretty schmick.
We have eight luxury wedding accommodation rooms available exclusively to you and your guests. We have four suites, three deluxe suites and a feature bridal suite. All of our rooms are finished to the very highest standard with plush carpets, comfortable beds and next-level bathrooms featuring private garden views from the open rainfall showers. We also offer our penthouse accommodation for your wedding night and this is an incredible space.
And what do you think would be epic at Potters? Any ideas you’d love to see a couple carry out?
We can’t wait to see a luncheon wedding under the wisteria courtyard. It’s the most perfect setting for an outdoor meal surrounded by nature, with wisteria above and the fragrance of spring in the garden around you.
Can you describe the kind of couples your venue attracts?
We attract all couples for lots of different reasons. The venue is so beautiful and offers a slightly rustic, luxurious feel by bringing the outdoors in (waterfalls and the native gardens can be seen from our reception space), yet there are many themes that would work here also such as boho, romantic, and vintage.
We also attract couples who just want to have an amazing day, not get too involved in so much detail and our coordination team can recommend and assist them with the wedding planning. We love all couples and cultures and simply love every wedding we have delivered.
Finally, what top tip or advice can you share with anyone planning a wedding right now?
We encourage you to consider our recommended suppliers as these are businesses who know the property inside-out and have your best interests at heart. We only work with reputable industry suppliers. Always ask our coordination team for help as they have years of experience – we do this every day and love it.
