DROUGHT SHOOT: Lynwood

We got together with a bunch of amazing wedding vendors and wine-makers to help transform a drought-stricken property into an impressive NSW country wedding venue. It was a blast.

When we started WedShed, our intention was simple: to connect couples with unique wedding venues across Australia and beyond. We knew there were plenty out there and that our couples would adore them. What we didn’t anticipate however, was the number of incredibly kind-hearted and talented wedding vendors we’d be lucky enough to meet (and later work with).

When we launched our drought initiative a few months back (any affected farms looking to diversify into weddings are welcome to a free year on WedShed), Terese from Lynwood – a 445 acre farm in the Hunter region – reached out for help. After raising beef cattle for five generations, the current drought has forced Terese and her husband Ken to pursue other income streams (such as contract farm work, haymaking, fencing and now of course, weddings).

They are humble and generous people who in their own words tell us, “…this property has been in the family for five generations and we want to have the family tradition continue. It is a very special place that is loved by all the family and we hope to be able to share it with people who want to start their married life in peaceful, beautiful surroundings with as little stress as possible.”

We wanted to help showcase what was possible for couples at this stunning, NSW country wedding venue and so we put out a call to our extended WedShed family, asking for their help in pulling together a styled shoot.

Jack HenryKataLaneThe Make Haus, Karina Prebble MakeupThe Wandering WaterholeStyled by Her and White Meadow were the first to raise their hands – volunteering their time, resources and skills to create the images you see here now. We couldn’t recommend each of these vendors more highly (from both a personal and professional stand point) and suggest you get in touch with them for your own big day, stat!

A special mention also has to go to our beautiful models, real-life couple Charlotte and Whitney who will be tying the knot next year. Thank you so much for being part of Lynwood’s new journey into the beautiful world of weddings. Bridechillas, rejoice.
