Spaghetti straps

The 90’s are making a comeback across both mainstream and bridal fashion. Expect to see plenty of slinky, slip dresses (think Carolyn Bessette Kennedy and Gwyneth Paltrow). This silhouette is effortlessly sophisticated.

Plunging V-necklines

The humble, flattering V-neckline is getting a little bit more daring. Just to be clear, we are not talking about a V-neckline that goes down to your navel – we are talking about those necklines that find the perfect balance between daring and sophisticated. Lace or sheer fabric can be added for a little bit of modesty.

Off the shoulder

Consider ‘off the shoulder’ wedding dresses the new strapless. The horizontal line created just above the bust by this style of dress highlights the décolletage and neck for a refined elegance.

Bows

The bow has been growing in popularity for the last two seasons, It’s versatile and offers an ultra classic detail to your wedding dress. Featured on the shoulder, off the shoulder, around the waist or as part of the train, a bow will definitely make a statement.

Dramatic trains

We love a long wedding dress train as it adds emphasis to the dress’ silhouette and makes for an epic photograph! Our new personal favourite train is a Watteau train. Inspired by Japanese culture, a Watteau train is a sculptural train that extends from the back neckline and creates a clean, modern silhouette.

A lot of mainstream fashion brands such as ASOS, BHLDN and Fame and Partners have launched ready to wear bridal collections at affordable prices, while second hand wedding dress platforms like Still White and Savvy Brides are helping brides to find the dress of their dreams at a fraction of the price.
