We bang on about unique, quality south coast wedding venues and vendors a lot. But Lauren and Deeon are proof that when you do your homework, you reap the rewards.
Choosing to marry at Seacliff House Gerringong (one of our fave south coast wedding venues) they recruited some of the most talented wedding folk out there like David Campbell Imagery, Ripple Weddings, Flowers on the Mill, The Wedding and Event Creators, Ashdown & Bee, Sammy & Lola and Jane Zwar to create the ultimate marquee wedding.
Tell us about how you met and the proposal?
We met in the coastal town of Crescent Head where both our families had been holidaying over the Christmas break for years but we never crossed paths until four years ago at the one pub in town ‘The Tav’. We instantly connected over our love of the beach, our favourite holiday destination and our fun-loving outlook on life and never looked back from that chance encounter
The proposal happened back in Crescent Head. Deeon drove along the beach in his 4WD, set up a picnic under the canopy of his car on a secluded section of the beach and had organised a picnic.
Once I finally sat down, Deeon said “Look, whales”. I finally turned around after scanning the ocean for a while and Deeon was down on one knee with a ring in one hand and holding his surfboard in front of him which he had written on in big letters, ‘Will you marry me?’. Safe to say it’s love when you sacrifice a surfboard for a proposal.
