Locally owned and operated the original Three Blue Ducks is located in the beachside suburb of Bronte in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. Originally dreamed up during a surf trip in Morocco, Bronte locals Mark, Chris and Sam were looking for a better, more sustainable approach to living that incorporated good ethical food. They soon teamed up with Jeff, another local business owner and Darren who had just finished up as head chef at Tetsuyas.
Now the Three Blue Ducks also have a popular paddock to plate style restaurant located on The Farm in Byron Bay on NSW’s north coast and are super excited to have opened their third restaurant in one of Sydney’s new inner city hotspots, Rosebery.
Serving food based on seasonal and sustainable produce the business is based on the philosophy of serving honest, thoughtful, exciting food and beverage in a relaxed environment whilst giving customers the utmost professional, friendly and personable service.
So the story of the Three Blue Ducks is really a story of a few guys who were taught a few things and learnt a few more things and travelled a few roads, surfed a few breaks and came to the realisation that they wanted to live lives of hard work, eat real food from good, ethical sources, cooked well and served without pretension by people who care about the world they have inherited and the future of it for generations to come.
At Three Blue Ducks, we are passionate about what we do and we hope it shows in our product. We make all our own pastries and baked goods. Our coffee blend is fair trade and forest friendly from Single Origin Roasters; organic teas are hand blended. The beautiful sourdough is from Iggy’s Bread, and the gluten-free sprouted quinoa and millet bread is from Spring Wellness. We try our hardest to gather all other produce from sustainable sources, whether it be organic eggs or grass-fed beef, with a policy of nothing goes to waste.
The Three Blue Ducks have kitchen gardens at all of our venues; we try to grow what we can and compost our foods waste. All fish is sustainably caught. Cleaning products are environmentally friendly, non-toxic biodegradable.
