A handsome alchemy of steel, copper, polished concrete and expansive glass, softened by the natural beauty of an ever evolving indoor garden, Rupert hints at exclusivity but delivers an ambient warmth. The Rupert family welcome each couple to the venue with open arms and a sincere commitment to deliver an experience that is collaborative, memorable and unique.

This beautiful and spacious venue offers several exceptional spaces to accommodate your wedding celebration, with creative and flexible dining options that can be tailored to your needs. The Main Dining Hall can seat up to 80 guests for a full sit down dinner or up to 200 guests for a standing cocktail style function. This expansive space offsets recycled materials with classic cocktail chic. The venue can be uniquely configured depending on the occasion, with the flexibility to allow for an instant dance floor if the event calls for it.

The sun drenched Conservatory is full to the brim with lush greenery and a transparent ceiling that evokes the experience of an outdoor tavern, allowing guests to bask in the beautiful seasonal shifts in light throughout the year, whilst staying fully protected from the unpredictable Melbourne weather. Most conveniently, the Conservatory doubles as a charming wedding aisle, and is an exquisite backdrop for the pre-reception canapes and cocktails to follow.

Our Cocktail Lounge offers guests a luxurious refuge amidst the old world comforts of leather chesterfields, vintage lamps and candle light. The space can be utilised prior to the wedding for the bridal party to ready themselves, or for the groomsmen to enjoy a pre-ceremony toast. Its vast ceiling, festooned with soft Edison lighting, is something of a starlit wonderland at night, transforming any party into a magical celebration.

Rupert is the co-creation of husband and wife team Ric and Mali Corinaldi, born of their shared passion for good food, beautiful design and making heart full connections with local community. Ric’s background in horticulture, construction and design and Mali’s experience in floristry and event management marry well in the business of bringing people together in beautiful spaces to celebrate their love.

Anyone that knows Ric, knows him to be a man of vision and passion. He loves a good story, loves to tell you the good story, and loves to contribute to making more good stories for the world to enjoy. His sense of adventure is obvious too, and evident in the two beautiful customised motorbikes that he has lovingly restored, and now call Rupert their home.

With this left of centre appetite for adventure and an imagination that rarely rests, Ric’s inspiration is foremost about creating environments that facilitate community connection. His founding role as one of the Team Leaders of the Ceres Environmental Park in Brunswick provided the opportunity for him to bring these fruits to bear in the creation of the original organic market garden. With its traditional wood fired pizza oven, celebration of local produce, and the like-minded community that gathered as a result, the Ceres market remains a cherished cornerstone in the path that led Ric to Rupert on Rupert.

Anyone that knows Mali, knows that first and foremost she loves romance and beauty, and the joy that can be found by nurturing a loving family well; whether it be for the benefit of her and Ric’s two mostly grown daughters, or their merry tribe of staff that now fill the gap, Mali is proud as punch to be Mama in the Rupert house. Those twenty or so years of raising children, and her past practice as a psychotherapist, ensure she brings an attitude of openness, flexibility and empathy to her role as wedding’s manager for all the weddings at Rupert on Rupert. With a guiding appreciation for the importance an environment can have on the emotional experience of an event, Mali works enthusiastically to provide a space that is not only aesthetically beautiful but also sacred. Both she and Ric, and all of their wonderful staff, come from the basic premise, that to be entrusted with the honour of hosting a wedding for two individuals, is a treasured privilege, and one that we do not take for granted.
