Dalmore Farm

Dalmore Farm is one of the Blackwood Valley region’s oldest properties and has been our family home for the past two decades.

We restored our old Shearing Shed back in 2013 for our own wedding, but have only recently made the decision to open Dalmore for other weddings. We put our hearts and souls into every aspect of the farm and love sharing the tranquil beauty of this place with others.

Every wedding we host is uniquely different and we work alongside our couples to help them in creating the days of their dreams. Dalmore is a BYO venue and all of our weddings are completely customised to the couples’ specifications: we only host 20 weddings each year so that we can put time and energy into each celebration.

Couples choose Dalmore because they want so much more than a ceremony and reception, they want a complete experience- an escape for themselves and their guests. When you stand atop the hill in Dalmore’s back paddock, you could almost believe that you are the only people in the world. There is nothing but rolling green hills, scattered granite boulders and elegant gums as far as the eye can see. It’s a sensory escape from the hectic pace of life and a chance to be in the moment in nature.

We offer beautiful accommodation in our newly-built farm estate as well as in our historic renovated Workman’s Cottage. Dalmore can also accommodate glamping packages for up to 25 guests through one of the SW’s wonderful bell tent providers.

We offer a range of ceremony and reception package, from fully styled formal events to more relaxed cocktail affairs. We also offer a DIY option with a pick and choose menu of add-ons, because we believe that a beautiful wedding shouldn’t break the bank.

Whether a couple is looking for country elegance or a rustic adventure, we can create a package to suit. And with opportunities for fishing, hiking, horseback riding, wine tasting and even yoga, a Dalmore wedding has all the elements of a destination wedding closer to home.

Hi!

We are Danny and Emilie Abbiss. Dalmore has been our home for over twenty years and it has been an honour to care for this very special place.

We live here on the farm with our 3 boys, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 9 horses, 2 goats, 2 pigs and too many ducks, geese, chickens, sheep and cows to count…We have so much love for its velvety hills, deep creek beds and rocky vistas. It is the most amazing place to wake up every day and an absolute gift to be able to raise our children here.

When we’re not organising weddings and events, Danny is putting up fences across the SW and Emilie is either teaching yoga and running retreats at Dalmore or racing around after the boys. There’s never a dull moment!

As we have built our family, with all of its two and four-legged members, over the years and watched our children grow and land flourish, we have felt a strong pull to share Dalmore with others. We would absolutely love to show you around and we invite you to create your own Dalmore dreams.
