Lisa’s wine instincts are distilled from her family’s four generations of wine making in Australia’s Hunter Valley. However, true to her rebellious spirit, McGuigan curates her ranges unencumbered by geography, choosing the varietals she loves from the most reliable and renowned terroir all over the world to give the brand its iconic quality. The quality of the wines themselves is another triumph of Lisa’s intuitive design process and collaborative approach to business. They also happen to be considered the shining stars of the new guard of Australian winemaking.

All the wines are made or finished off at a shared winery in the Hunter Valley, Lisa’s home region. Lisa McGuigan’s Silver Collection is all about good wine for everyday drinking at an affordable price, sourced from great growers around Australia. The Platinum Collection is my passion and the varietals are my favourites that push the boundaries on the more traditional styles and varieties that are ie expected from the Hunter Valley. I’ve sourced the finest fruits from several established regions, the wines include Gruner Vetliner, Pinot Gris, Claudius Chardonnay, Pinot Noir & Shiraz’. ‘Renaissance in Latin means rebirth – which is why a period of time around the 15th century has this name.

I’ve spent the last two years in my hometown Pokolbin where I created my new outlet Vamp. This has been a time of discovery which allowed me to pursue a totally new era in my winemaking. The Renaissance was a period influenced by the Black Death and a time when the status quo and all aspects of life, art and science were revolutionised. I have named this, my most ‘out there’ range after this important period. It includes varietals I previously would not have touched given their difference, and the extreme attention required in the winery.
