No tricks here – it’s as the title suggests. We’re bringing you unique Melbourne wedding venues. We’re talking at least double digits. You see, Melbourne is a great place to get hitched – there’s a huge number of diverse spaces, loads of accommodation and near endless places to eat and drink. For whatever reason, it just oozes cool. It was also one of the first cities to offer cronuts and cruffins as an alternative to banana bread, so you know that its got its thumb firmly on what’s-what.

Glasshaus Inside

This has got to be one of Melbourne’s most unique wedding venues. A botanical playground with an industrial edge, there is no need for additional styling: as the name suggest, it’s a glasshouse full of plants. It’s also walking distance from Richmond train station and (importantly) curfew isn’t till midnight.

The Brunswick Mess Hall

Catering for up to 260 guests, The Brunswick Mess Hall is a swanky, inner-city wedding venue boasting an extensive craft beer, wine and cocktail list, as well as delicious South East Asian food. The heritage-listed hall is ideal for receptions – both sit down and cocktail style.

Melbourne Zoo

Not only do you have a chance to rub shoulders with the local residents here (so cool), you can also create a completely tailored wedding with bespoke, all-inclusive packages for up to 240 guests, put together by Melbourne Zoo’s professional wedding team.

The Mint Bar and Restaurant

Like a lot of popular Melbourne wedding venues, the focus here is on good food and drinks. Enjoy a formal sit down or a casual barbecue (or even a burger tower), and know that designated champagne stations are encouraged. It’s essentially a good-looking, pet-friendly beer garden that is housed in a heritage listed building, bang in the centre of Melbourne.

Canvas House

Designed with couples in mind, this contemporary, loft-like space features exposed brick walls and beams and sleek black steel frame inspired windows. It also has modern conveniences like wi-fi and an AV system, as well as fold-away doors that allow easy access for vendors and food trucks.

The Panama Dining Room

If good food is your thing, you’ll love this space. Because not only does it dish up things like puffed pork crackling and whole snapper, it’s projected as a New York style loft with timber floors, giant arch windows and an unassuming entranceway.

The Farm Cafe

In the past eight years, The Farm Cafe at Collingwood Children’s Farm has become one of Melbourne’s most sought after wedding venues. Located less than 5km from Melbourne CBD, the cafe offers three reception spaces – a 100 year old barn, a marquee or the cafe itself. All are amazing and all deliver a relaxed rural setting and great food.

The Substation

Restored from ruin, The Substation is a contemporary arts space that now doubles as a popular industrial wedding venue. The iconic arch windows invite plenty of natural light while the high ceilings are perfect for hanging floral installations. Accommodation and a range of cafes and restaurants are all only metres away and ceremonies can take place on-site. What’s not to love?

40rd

Tucked away in the backstreets of Bayside, Melbourne 40rd is fairly unassuming from the outside. Inside however, is a lovely, light-filled area that features polished concrete floors, white brick walls, a VIP room and a colourful courtyard that can be used for ceremonies and/or pre-dinner drinks. A best-kept secret.
