Behold, a dynamic duo who have pioneered quality, handmade marquee and neon lights and made them available to the wedding world. Sammy & Lola are a husband and wife team (we love that!) who are forever on the go, bringing a little razzle dazzle to Australian weddings.

Here we share the inside scoop on why Sammy & Lola are a cut above the rest.

Tell us about your business.

The brainchild of husband and wife duo, Sammy & Lola was created for brides and grooms who want wedding decorations as unique as they are.

Sammy & Lola can quite literally put your name (or almost anything else) up in lights. We are Australia’s only hire company offering meticulously hand-crafted marquee lights, made from sustainable timber and hand painted right here in Sydney. We’re incredibly proud of our lights, and we know our Sammy & Lola brides and grooms genuinely appreciate the love and attention we put into each one.

We’re not just about the marquee letter lights – we also offer very funky and original neon signs and festoons, for total illumination.

What’s the biggest tip you’d give to couples planning their wedding?

Don’t leave things to the last minute, book with plenty of time. There is nothing worst then us having to tell a couple that we are fully booked out for their day.

Sum up your style in one sentence.

Our style: bold, unique, modern.

Can you share any up and coming trends in your line of work?

Neon, neon and more neon. Not for the faint hearted.

What’s your favourite part of your job?

Walking into a venue and setting up, seeing each and every couple’s unique style, and receiving the thank you notes and photos from their special day.

It’s really touching and nice to know that we played a role in making their day that little bit more special.

Are there any preconceptions about your line of work that you’d like to smash for us here?

That it’s easy. It’s definitely not, there is lots of dirty work, cutting, sanding, painting lights, heavy lifting and we haven’t even got to the venue yet. The list goes on, it’s not just plug and play.

What do you hope couples that have worked with you would say about you?

I would like to think that we have been helpful and have made the process pain free for them. That our lights, helped make their night a magical one.
