Australia’s bushfire crisis has had a devastating impact on our natural environment and the livelihoods of thousands of everyday Aussies, including many of our wonderful venue owners and wedding suppliers.

The response to those in need has been incredible with initiatives such as Roadtrip For Good, Spend With Them and the Empty Esky campaign providing much needed financial support to fire affected regions in NSW and beyond.

If you’re a couple that’s engaged (congrats!), you might be happy to hear your wedding can help fire affected regions in NSW too. By inviting your guests to spend their money where it’s needed most (think costs around accommodation, transport and eating/drinking) and employing local wedding suppliers, you’ll be helping to restore the economy significantly. Plus with the average wedding bringing tens of thousands of dollars to a region, that’s a hefty donation!

Below we’ve rounded up the hardest hit regions in NSW that would love your support. We know that each of these venues and vendors are still up and running and are committed to making your wedding the best day ever.

Mid North Coast

Like much of the NSW East Coast, this area is also home to countless rivers, world-heritage parks, native wildlife and picturesque surf beaches. In more recent years, it’s become a wedding hotspot for couples who value quality food and wine as much as the outdoors.

Newcastle and surrounds

The second most populated region in NSW, Newcastle and its surrounding areas (Hunter Region, Central Coast) have almost everything you’d expect from a big city – a thriving night life, plenty of shopping and an almost overwhelming amount of good bars and restaurants. The biggest perk of course being the consequent selection of outstanding wedding venues and local wedding suppliers.

Kangaroo Valley

Kangaroo Valley is a quaint, historic town where a cold beer and a good meat pie are never too hard to find. A tranquil river runs through the valley and nearby you’ll find two spectacular waterfalls. Not a whole heap has changed here over the past 130 years, and that’s part of the charm.
