We have a few theories as to why short wedding dresses are now so on-trend. The most probable being:

1. Since most brides-to-be spent 2020 in lock-down wearing some form of ‘loungewear’ and doing squats in their living room (ha, or not), they’re excited to have some fun and show a little skin. Short wedding dresses are the perfect antidote to – let’s face it – a pretty lacklustre year.

2. With certain restrictions still lingering and a subsequent rise in micro weddings and elopements, short wedding dresses suit the more relaxed and intimate vibe of these celebrations perfectly.

3. One thing that makes people want to party is being housebound – when it comes time to hit the dance floor, short wedding dresses are a practical choice.

4. Lastly, it could just be the simple fact they look incredibly chic and send a message that says “we’re all here for a good time, not a long time”. In which case, we hope to see more short wedding dresses everywhere.
